Is Turn off UP LITTLE MAN! AN AUDIO MISADVENTURE a story about the two very vocal alcoholics that were recorded by their neighbors and became an private cult sensation, or is it a commentary on what exactly constitutes “art?” On the fa it is the former but by the time we get to the end of this very candid documentary, it very much feels like the later. Keep quiet UP LITTLE MAN! has been making the rounds on the film festival circuit to much acclaim from both critics and audiences and is now nearby for all to see and debate on DVD. But what is it about?

In a nutshell, the SHUT UP LITTLE MAN phenomenon (and it is, really) started back in 1987 when friends Eddie Guerriero (aka Eddie Lee Sausage) and Mitch Deprey (aka Mitchell D.) moved into a low split dive apartment in San Francisco they named the “Pepto Bismol Country estate” due to its garish pink color. Thanks to the paper thin walls and A number acoustics (compliments of the very close neighboring building) the guys were skilled to hear everything (and I mean everything) that their boisterous and extremely loud alcoholic neighbors Peter Haskett and Raymond Huffman were arguing about on a every night basis. When they went next door to complain one night, they were threatened with liquidation by the inebriated Peter. Scared for their lives they began to record the constantly feuding neighbors on their roar box. Over time they became more and more fascinated by the insanity they were hearing to the point they would start playing back old fights at Peter and Raymond, which they would hysterically expose on.
