I bought these on a whim at a limited audio supplier and after plugging them into my light minidisc participant I couldn’t fancy what I was hearing. Details in the music that had been buried by the bleak top end and mid sector of other headphones were jumping out, order in the soundstage was more outright than with anything else I owned and the bass wasn’t that artificially “throbbing” bass you often get with most budget headphones these days. I compared these to a twosome of my Sennheiser PX 100s, my Sony MDR-V150s and my Koss R 80s and all of them could not parallel the Maxells for exactness and detail. Coupled with the 8 foot chord, measure charge AND the mono/stereo direct is another outstanding advantage.
