A Eutawville man is being held on a care that he stole his
grandmother's household furnishings in November.
Michael Andrew Hutto, 22, of 204 St. John St., has been arrested
on a cite of receiving stolen goods.
"Officers were notified on Nov. 14 that a washer and dryer,
refrigerator, desktop computer, telly and a videocassette
recorder were stolen from a residence on Selena Circle, Holly Hill.
Officers observed phony entry to a rear door of the residence,"
Orangeburg County Sheriff Leroy Ravenell said. "Whole damage and
property estimates are $1,250."
Hutto is being held on a bond of $1,092.
According to a authorize, the 68-year-old grandmother of Hutto
suffered a burglary in November.
Hutto was later found to be in ownership of his grandmother's
belongings, according to authorities.
"Investigator Lakesha Gillard and Envoy Sheriff Terrance Smith
are to be commended for their work in this case," the sheriff said.
"It is ruinous that a 21-year-old man would be in possession of
items that were stolen from his grandmother's about.
