I have a bose surround system minus the receiver. What type of receiver should I buy without spending too much?

Answer: The crush option is an amp which will serve you better than a receiver. I would base my decision on specs for the Lifestyle V35/25 Bose Acoustimass module rated at 100-120v 50/60Hz 350 Watts
DC Produce 12V 20W Max.

Well, as long as it is a 5.1 surround receiver, then YES, it'll travail. Wattage may be in question as the Bose AM systems need plenty of power to ahead them,
